BELT FILTER PRESS WITH THICKENER
The perfect combination between a thickener and a belt filter press in a compact unit for the sludge treatment.
For dewatering the sludge produced by average and big WWTP, TEKNOFANGHI suggests the use of MONOBELT®, the perfect combination into one belt filter press. The machine is composed of two units, the pre-thickener and the sludge press.
The pre-thickener rotary drum with Archimedean screw inside performs the initial solid/liquid separation stage, taking Sludge Solids concentration from 0.5 - 3% up to 5 - 15%. The dewatering in the press occurs firstly in the low pressure zone, then in the middle pressure zone (also called wedge zone) and finally in the high pressure zone where the filter cake is compressed between the perforated cylinder cloth and the main cloth. The discharged sludge cake can reach Dry Solids contents variable from 18% to 30% depending on the sludge type. The range of sludge treated with MONOBELT® is from 1 m³/h up to 140 m³/h maximum per single machine. The simple design, covered by patent, permits to use endless belts which grants three times longer operational life than traditional belts with clipper seams.

SLUDGE LEAVING THE PRE-THICKENER
The pre-thickener rotary drum with Archimedean screw inside performs the initial solid/liquid separation, with a significant reduction of the hydraulic load fed into the belt press.
This allows the unit to handle sludge having very low Suspended Solids concentrations (0,5-1%).
BAFFLE AND BREAKER COMBS
The thickened sludge (that generally has now a concentration of 5-15%) is then fed to the Low Pressure Draining Zone and distributed over the whole cloth width. It’s then gently pressed by three adjustable baffles and two breaker combs.
SLUDGE IN THE HIGH PRESSURE ZONE
At the end of this stage, the sludge enters into the Wedge Zone, where it receives a gradual increase of pressure. After that, the sludge reaches the Maximum Pressure Zone, where it is compressed between the main filter cloth, and the secondary filter cloth, which lines the perforated cylinder.
At the exit of the MONOBELT®, dependent upon the characteristics of the sludge, it is possible to reach Dry Solids concentrations between 18% to 30% or more.
Due to the special design of the entire system, we can guarantee a solid capture up to 98%.
Only one of the two belts installed on the unit is “under traction” hence the name MONOBELT®. This design permits us to use an endless belt which needs no joining zippers or clips which are the typical critical weakness points of most belt filter presses. This characteristic simplifies the unit and makes the belt drive system far more reliable.
EASY CLEAN NOZZLES
The filter cloths are kept clean with an automatic washing system, using special TEKNOFANGHI designed spray nozzles, which use less water than other standard nozzles on the market. For rapid cleaning of the nozzles, they can be easily removed, cleaned and replaced, without using any tools.
PLUG AND PLAY
MONOBELT® units are supplied with a control panel fixed on the unit and a washing pump, in this way, the entire plug and play system MONOBELT® is ready to work without mounting anything else.
SAFETY SPILLAGE COVERS
MONOBELT® is complete with a full set of safety and water containment covers. The machine is completely enclosed to prevents aereosol and bad smells.
